Amber Hasselbring, Principal of Art-ecology, is an artist, naturalist and educator. Her work samples surrounding ecosystems to design public art, sidewalk gardens, backyards, and open spaces. Amber’s San Francisco-based Mission Greenbelt project began in 2007 and seeks to build a public artwork of contiguous sidewalk gardens to create habitat for butterflies, pollinators, and songbirds.
Amber has been a member of Nature in the City’s steering committee since 2006. Nature in the City is a non-profit organization focused on restoring local biodiversity, wildlife habitat, and connecting urban people to nature where we live. Amber currently represents Nature in the City, as an urban habitat consultant for the SF planning Department’s Green Connections project.
